Unlike traditional cloud software platforms, ManiPad operates with zero mandatory user identification:

2. Information We Process & Store
Any text, markdown, or code you type or paste into a note is transmitted to our servers to enable real-time synchronization between collaborating clients and saved to persistent server-side storage.
If you set an optional password in Note Settings, access is restricted to sessions entering that password. If you lose or forget a note password, it cannot be recovered or reset by anyone, including the administrators of ManiPad.
ManiPad does not track, record, or profile your IP address, geolocation, or reading/writing activity in our application database. Standard, transient network metadata is processed solely at the hosting network edge for basic HTTP packet routing and automated DDoS mitigation.
We store your dark/light appearance preference in your browser's local storage (localStorage). No persistent advertising or tracking cookies are placed on your device.
3. Data Retention & Automatic Expiration
ManiPad is designed as an ephemeral scratchpad, not a permanent archival warehouse. Data retention operates under the following rules:
- Self-Destruct Notes: If an expiration period is configured (e.g., 1 hour, 24 hours, or 7 days), the note and its contents are automatically and irreversibly purged from our database once the timer expires.
- Manual Password Clearing: Removing the password in Note Settings unprotects the note immediately.
- Inactive Note Pruning: Notes that remain inactive or untouched for prolonged periods may be pruned to maintain operational infrastructure capacity without prior notice.
4. Third-Party Disclosures & Law Enforcement
We do not sell, rent, monetize, or disclose note contents to commercial third parties, marketers, or data brokers.
We may disclose information only if required by law, such as in response to a valid court order, subpoena, or legally binding governmental request under applicable jurisdiction, or when deemed necessary to investigate violations of our Terms of Service (including illegal activity, cyberattacks, or child exploitation).
5. Security Measures & Limitations
All communications between your browser and ManiPad use encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections.
However, no online transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% impenetrable. By utilizing this Service, you acknowledge that you submit content at your own risk.
6. Children's Privacy
ManiPad is not targeted toward individuals under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children.
